Transmission control cable assy (ATM)

REPLACEMENT

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB−ASSY

3. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSY

4. REMOVE AIR BAG ECU ASSY

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSY

6. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR SUB−ASSY

7. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSY

8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY

1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect shift cable grommet retainer No.2.

2. Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.

3. Disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.

4. Remove the clip and disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

5. Disconnect the control cable from the control cable clamp.

6. Disconnect the floor shift cable from the transmission floor shift assy.

7. Pull out the control cable from the body.

8. Remove the shift cable grommet retainer No. 2.

9. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY

1. Put in the control cable to the body.

2. Install the shift cable grommet retainer No.2 to the floor shift cable.

3. Install the floor shift cable as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

• Install it with the uneven surface facing to up.

• Fit the claws securely.

4. Connect the control cable to the control cable clamp.

5. Install the control cable and a new clip to the bracket.

6. Temporarily install the control cable to the control shaft lever with nuts.

7. Install the shift cable grommet retainer No.2 with the 2 bolts.

   Torque: 4.9 N·m (50 kgf·cm, 43 in.·lbf)

1. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSY

2. INSTALL AIR BAG ECU ASSY

3. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSY

4. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

5. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION

6. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR SUB−ASSY

7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSY

8. INSTALL BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
